Travis (Oklahoma, USA) became intrigued with pointillism when learning about Neo-Impressionism (Seurat, Signac, et al.). His first experiment of the technique, Gulf Fritillary Butterfly in Pointillism (Black & White), initiated an endless fascination with dots, color theory, and lepidopterans (butterflies and moths). Since then, Travis has created numerous pieces using fine tip pens on watercolor paper, and has extended his work onto wood pallets, window shades, and canvas. His commitment to butterflies and moths stems from a growing appreciation of their importance in the environment and the unique place they have in our collective imagination. He lives in Oklahoma and has a great view of the monarch migration each year. Please enjoy his portfolio, and follow on social media for updates.
